scope:

This method outlines procedures for obtaining samples of materials processed for use as concrete aggregate or of raw materials being investigated for such use, and selecting material for testing from the samples so obtained. Procedures applicable to a number of typical situations with respect to the nature , occurrence , and condition of materials, and with respect to the purposes for which the samples are to be taken are described. The procedures outlined do not cover all possible situations, and will therefore require modification in certain circumstances; they are, however, regarded as providing a suitable guide to the types of procedures believed necessary if adequate and representative samples are to be taken either for routine job - control tests or for laboratory testing. The method includes three parts as follows:
