This standard covers the physical requirements and tests for performance and durability, together with the methods of marking and identification for tubing, pipe and flexible hose.

The water drain tubing, pipe and flexible fill hose, covered by this standard, is intended for use in recreational vehicles.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this standard is to establish an acceptable standard for minimum health and safety protection and for the manufacturing of Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC), Polybutylene (PB), Polyethylene (PE) non-pressure water drain tubing, pipe, and flexible water fill hose in recreational vehicle. Its purpose is also to serve as a guide for producers, distributors, designers, engineers, installers, inspectors and users; to promote understanding regarding materials, manufacture and installation; and to provide for identifying the non-pressure water drain tubing, pipe, and flexible fill hose that conforms to this standard.

The provisions of this standard are not intended to prevent the use of any alternate material or method of construction, any such alternate material or method meets the intent and requirements of this document and such changes are amended to this standard.

This standard provides requirements which are not specified in ASTM or other standards which are for pressurized applications or systems.
