Purpose of This Order.

This order establishes the organizational and procedural framework to vet, develop and maintain the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Aircraft Certification Service (AIR) technology solutions and investments. This order is not intended to circumvent existing FAA functional alignments nor replicate responsibilities of other FAA lines of business and directorates. It is intended to complement existing functional services via strategic partnership to address the accelerated pace of change in the FAA and technology.
