MPIF - STM 75

Method for Determination of Flow Rate of Metal Powders Using the Carney Flowmeter Funnel

active, Most Current
Organization: MPIF
Publication Date: 1 January 2022
Status: active
Page Count: 2
scope:

This standard covers a test method for the determination of a flow rate, by use of the Carney flowmeter funnel, for metal powders and powder mixtures that do not readily flow through the Hall flowmeter funnel of MPIF Standard 03.

With the exception of the values for density and the mass used to determine density, for which the use of the gram per cubic centimeter (g/cm3) and gram (g) units is the longstanding industry practice, the values in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard.

This standard may involve hazardous materials, operations and equipment. This standard does not purport to address all of the potential safety problems associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and to determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
