scope:
This standard describes a procedure for determining the apparent density of non-free-flowing metal powders. It is designed for those powders that do not flow freely through the Hall flowmeter funnel.
To determine the apparent density of free-flowing metal powder see MPIF Standard 04.
With the exception of density, for which g/cm3 is the industry standard, this standard uses inch-pound units. Values in SI units are shown in parentheses and result from conversion in accordance with IEEE/ASTM Standard SI 10. They may be approximate and are only for information.
This standard may involve hazardous materials, operations and equipment. This standard does not purport to address all of the potential safety problems associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and to determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
