This Procedure applies to all fixed installations operating at up to 400V ' and portable, movable, stationary, hand-held and business appliances and equipment used by Railtrack personnel that require testing to enable compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations (1989). This procedure does not apply to signalling equipment.

PURPOSE

This Procedure defines the process for determining the frequency of testing and examination and the minimum standards of testing that the installations, equipment and appliances shall undergo in order to ensure continued safe usage.
