Purpose. This test procedure determines the ability of the plenum to manage water and the Heating and Ventilation (HV) or Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system to resist water ingestion under various static and dynamic test conditions.

This procedure also includes a Wet Road Test that is only applicable to vehicles having unconventional, side mounted, ventilation inlets.

Applicability. This procedure applies to all vehicles with an enclosed passenger or sealed cargo compartment.

Note: Wet Road Test section of this procedure only applies to test vehicles with unconventional ventilation air inlets. (See 1.1.1).
