scope:
A burglar alarm central station service installs, operates and maintains, at a subscribing customer's property, electrical signaling equipment for burglary protection purposes.
The customer equipment communicates with a constantly attended central office, where receipt of signals results in appropriate action by central station personnel.
For the purpose of this standard, a protected premises shall be considered open when entry is allowed without a resulting alarm; a premises shall be considered closed when any entry will produce an alarm.
Purpose
This standard states testing and certification requirements for Central Station Service for Burglar Alarms.
Testing and certification criteria may include, but are not limited to, examination of supervising stations, subsidiary stations, repeater stations, service facilities, protected premises, marking requirements, operating procedures and records, runners, maintenance, testing and service, and a surveillance program.
