scope:

This standard applies to pressure actuated waterflow alarm switches. These devices are used with automatic water control valves in wet sprinkler systems, dry pipe systems, and special sprinkler systems. They operate an electric alarm when there is waterflow to the sprinkler system.

Purpose

This standard states testing and certification requirements for pressure actuated waterflow alarm switches.

Testing and certification criteria may include, but are not limited to, performance requirements, marking requirements, examination of manufacturing facility(ies), audit of quality assurance procedures, and a surveillance program.
