The contents of this Level 2 document apply to all signalling installations which use silver plated connectors on plug-in apparatus.

Further contamination problems with relay plugboards are considered in Signalling Equipment Technical Advice Notice NR/GN/SIG/19015.

PURPOSE

To define the policy for the management and prevention of silver migration within signalling equipment, so as to satisfy the mandatory requirements of Railway Group Standard GK/RT0210, Asset Management for the Safety of Signalling and Operational Telecommunication Systems and Equipment.
