This document covers topside systems for fixed or floating offshore projects not covered by class requirements. This document is also applicable for hull systems and onshore projects provided that there is no cost increase in its application. This document is not to be considered or confused with class rules from classification societies. For verification of compliance with class rules, it is best to use the respective class rules from class societies.

This document was developed based on major international standards to comply with requirements of shelf regulations of UK, US, Norway and Australia. Overall the requirements outlined in this document will meet most of the specified regulatory requirements. Exemptions where requirements in common standards for tertiary items applied in offshore oil & gas projects are not met in this document are clearly stated.

This document provides requirements to dimensions of the items but does not include requirements to clearances with other structures. Material selection is limited to references with more detailed information to be found in this document, material requirement in clauses 6 and 7.
