The scope of this procedure applies to: all information relating to changes in traffic levels on any route; the evaluation of that information; the transmission of that information to the relevant Engineers and Contract Managers and any necessary alterations to the current maintenance and renewal regimes. It applies to all Regions.

Where more than one Region is affected, the Region responsible for causing the changed traffic flow or the Lead Region, in the case of Train Operating Company (TOC) led changes, shall be responsible for passing the relevant information to any other Regions affected, and shall ensure that close liaison is maintained with these Regions.

Purpose

This procedure sets out the process for capturing and collating information on shortterm changes of traffic flows, including engineering works, and for identifying exceptional situations, which may affect the maintenance and renewal regime on a particular route, in the period before an updated Contract Area Profile is issued.
