scope:
This standard contains the minimum requirements for aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) services at airports and the required performance criteria by which an authority having jurisdiction over ARFF maintains proficiency and effective ARFF at airports, and establishes test procedures for evaluating the foam firefighting equipment installed on ARFF vehicles designed in accordance with Chapters 1 through 6 of NFPA 1900.
Requirements for other airport fire protection services are not covered in this document.
