This specification shall be used for the design and installation of new or renewed standby power supply systems. It shall also be used to assess the adequacy of existing systems, and for their maintenance.

Purpose

This specification sets out requirements for the provision of a standby power supply to enable Network Rail owned telecommunications equipment to continue to operate for a given period after the loss of the normal or primary power supply source.
