PURPOSE AND SCOPE

Chapter 3 contains the specific technical requirements of the GBAS ground equipment such as service Volume, operating modes with control and status, data link characteristics and executive monitoring.

Appendix F provides information on the use of multiple transmitter antennas to improve the coverage of the VDB.

Appendix H provides information on the process and the testing used during selection of a suitable site for the GBAS Ground subsystem.

Appendix O contains a traceablity matrix between the airborne MOPS (RTCA DO-253D) and ICAO Annex 10, identifying airborne requirements which a Ground Subsystem design may rely on for safe operation.

Appendix P …contains a link to the ICAO GAST D Concept Paper.

Appendix Q …contains information on how to take into account VDB frequency compatibility aspects that could occur from same airport localizers and VORs, taking into account the GBAS VDB airborne receiver's limitations with respect to maximum undesired power and desired-to-undersired power ration in this band.

Appendix R …contains a specification for an optional ATC/Maintenance interface allowing service providers to connect with their bespoke status display systems.
