General
This Standard sets out the requirements for electrical installations associated with site supplies for connectable electrical installations that are intended for connection to low voltage (LV) a.c. supply systems (i.e. exceeding 50 V a.c. but not exceeding 1 000 V a.c.).
The particular requirements of this Standard replace, modify, or are additional to the general requirements of AS/NZS 3000 for the electrical wiring of site supplies for connectable electrical installations.
NOTE 1 Guidance on the calculation of maximum demand for switchboards/service
NOTE 2 See Appendix B for guidance on providing connection instructions to patrons.
Inclusions
Site supplies may exist in the following:
(a) Caravan parks.
(b) Holiday parks.
(c) Tourist parks.
(d) Camping grounds.
(e) Socket-outlets of other electrical installations specifically provided for the connection of connectable electrical installations, including but not limited to:
(i) Public areas.
(ii) Shows and carnivals.
(iii) Golf courses.
(iv) Sporting grounds.
(v) Horse racing grounds.
(vi) Accommodation provider sites (e.g. hotels, motels, bed and breakfast).
(f) This Standard may also be used for scouting jamborees, military camps or civil defence shelters in conjunction with AS/NZS 3002.
Exclusions
In Australia, this Standard does not apply to fixed electrical installations forming part of the following:
(a) electrical installations as per AS/NZS 3000;
(b) shows and carnival installations as per AS/NZS 3002;
(c) construction and demolition installations as per AS/NZS 3012;
(d) marina installations as per AS/NZS 3004.1; or
(e) parts of other installations not intended to supply electricity to a connectable electrical installation.
In New Zealand, this Standard does not apply to the following:
(i) marina installations; or
(ii) parts of other installations not intended for use to supply electricity to a connectable electrical installation.
