Organization: NR
Publication Date: 1 October 2007
Status: active
Page Count: 46
scope:

This specification applies to the design of new or amended colour light junction signalling. Where alterations are made to the signalling associated with a junction, all signals shall be reviewed and otherwise unaffected signals brought into compliance with this specification where reasonably practicable.

Purpose

This level 2 mandatory standard, in support of NR/SP/SIG/11201, defines the requirements for junction signalling in order to provide a clear and unambiguous message to drivers. The agreed derogations to GK/RT0032 are included in this best practice for the design of junction signalling. The aim is for the delivery of the minimum junction occupation times whilst not compromising the correct control of train speed, by the elimination of potentially misleading indications and aspects.
