This document provides an understanding of cable problems on Railtrack Signalling Infrastructure, together with relevant technical information and, where necessary, provides a history of the problem.

This document does not address general personnel safety measures. Local instructions including a COSHH assessment may be in operation and these will highlight those measures which must be taken to control any Health and Safety concerns.

Purpose

This Code of Practice has been prepared to summarise significant cable and wiring problems that have been found on Railtrack' s Signalling Infrastructure.
