This specification shall be used by all those when engaged in the design, installation, testing and maintenance of all new point heating systems installed on LU.
Purpose
The purpose of this specification is to define the requirements for point heating systems to be used on London Underground (LU) infrastructure. The purpose of point heating is to prevent point failures due to adverse weather conditions, with particular regard to temperature and precipitation (rain, sleet and snow).
