This Company Standard applies to all types of signalling works and systems defined in Section 5.

This Company Standard covers both hardware and software, including software development, software tools and data used in programmable signalling systems.

This Company Standard does not cover the general duties of design authorities, including:

a) qualifications and competence requirements (see GM/RT2450 and NR/L1/CTM/001);

b) presentation and production processes for design details (see NR/L2/SIG/11201);

c) documentary requirements for the different types of design detail drawing and their inter-relationship (see NR/L2/SIG/11201, Module A2).

Reference to particular items of equipment in this module does not imply product acceptance or type approval.

PURPOSE

This module gives guidance on meeting the minimum technical requirements to check that the design of railway signalling systems is safe and dependable.
