This guidance applies to all LU employees and contractors who occasionally have to process external mail. It does not apply to staff who work at Transport for London (TfL) Head Office mail handling centres as there is bespoke advice and guidance that caters for these specific locations and personnel that work within them.

Purpose

This document provides guidance for personnel working within London Underground (LU) on recognising the various indicators associated with suspicious mail, and describes the actions that should be taken to respond appropriately to such an incident.
