This guidance applies to all LU operational staff, but is particularly relevant to station staff whilst performing their security checks or when their duties involve:

• Checking the designated staff car park

• Working on the perimeter of the station footprint, where they are more likely to encounter unattended vehicles

• The chance observation of an abandoned vehicle in the immediate vicinity of the station.

This guidance can also be used by all LU operational staff if they discover an unattended vehicle on other parts of the LU estate.

Purpose

This guidance document describes the actions that should be taken by London Underground (LU) operational staff when they encounter an unattended vehicle during the course of their duties.
