scope:
This Level 2 standard applies to Projects that comply with the primary rules in section 4.1.
Purpose
This document is part of the suite of documents contained within the Signalling Works Testing Handbook, NR/L2/SIG/30014, which together detail the requirements for signalling works testing activities.
Works Testing Handbook, NR/L2/SIG/30014, which together detail the requirements for signalling works testing activities.
This document is to be used in circumstances where the practices
and procedures defined in NR/L2/SIG/30014/A110
• The task is repetitive in nature and the use of common Design could be applied (e.g. Filament to LED signal head conversion).
• The task is simple and the use of the two colour method (Red/Green) Design may not be the most appropriate way of identifying change.
• The possession arrangements are such that only small incremental changes can be introduced at one time.
This Standard can only be applied based on good practice methods of risk assessment, planning, review, briefing, and consensus between all involved disciplines (Network Rail, Project Engineering Management, Design, Construction, Test and Maintenance). The important issues are:
• That only appropriate alterations use this document;
• That all alterations are carried out in a controlled and carefully planned and specified manner;
• That all involved parties are clear as to exactly what is provided by Design and how that Design is implemented; and
• That clear information on the state of the infrastructure is available at all times.
Section 4 below gives some examples with controls as a guide.
