This procedure applies to any waste produced as a result of Maintenance activities including waste arising from works undertaken by contractors. This procedure applies if:

• You manage activities where waste is produced.

• You are involved or responsible for activities where waste is produced.

• You are responsible for leading environmental management.

• You are involved or are responsible for waste management and its disposal e.g. waste contractor management at depots.

Purpose

The purpose of this procedure is to provide guidance on the management of waste produced by and on behalf of the Maintenance function of Network Rail. It is important that this procedure is read in conjunction with the Waste Management Manual.
