scope:

This module of NR/L3/MTC/II0219 specifies the process to be applied when Maintenance on equipment fitted with Remote Condition Monitoring is performed. In places where appropriate, specific instructions are given relating to the systems implemented, e.g. Intelligent Infrastructure Remote Condition Monitoring. It covers the requirements to be applied to the Intelligent Infrastructure Remote Condition Monitoring system so that false Alarms are not generated or received during the performance of maintenance, and also provides the opportunity to check Asset function before and after maintenance.

Purpose

Remote Condition Monitoring (RCM) systems are being implemented to provide information on the condition and potential faults on specified Assets on the Network Rail Infrastructure.

To ensure that the systems are used in a correct and consistent way, a suite of Standards has been produced to provide guidance and processes to be applied to the use and management of RCM systems.

This standard is one of the suite, which also includes standards for guidance on the Maintenance of Assets fitted with RCM, Installation of RCM equipment and Configuration and Calibration of the equipment. In places, specific reference and instruction is included to apply to the system and equipment fitted by the Intelligent Infrastructure RCM project.
