scope:
This module of NR/L3/MTC/II0219 specifies the process for the configuration of Intelligent Infrastructure Remote Condition Monitoring Loggers (II RCM Loggers) as part of the overall Commissioning process.
It covers the required action and activity for the configuration of Intelligent Infrastructure Remote Condition Monitoring Loggers to be used with related software systems in order to monitor faults or degradation in function of the assets upon which they are fitted.
It applies to all Intelligent Infrastructure RCM installations except FTN/GSM-R systems that are managed by the Telecoms Engineering Centre (TEC) in Stoke.
It excludes all RCM installations carried out by Legacy project activities.
Purpose
Intelligent Infrastructure Remote Condition Monitoring (II RCM) system is being implemented to provide information on the condition and potential faults on specified Assets on the Network Rail Infrastructure.
To ensure that the systems are used in a correct and consistent way, a suite of Standards has been produced to provide guidance and processes to be applied to the use and management of RCM systems.
This standard is one of the suite, which also includes standards for guidance on the Maintenance of Assets fitted with RCM, Installation of RCM equipment, Management of response to Alarms and Alerts from the Systems and Calibration of the equipment. In places, specific reference and instruction is included to apply to the system and equipment fitted by the II RCM project.
