This specification applies to all new fencing where required around electric traction distribution installations on the A.C. and D.C. Electrified Lines.
Purpose
This specification states the requirements for the design, manufacture and installation of perimeter palisade fencing of the security type for use, when specified, around electric traction distribution installations. The installations are, typically:
On A.C. Electrified lines Feeder stations and track sectioning cabins/locations of indoor and outdoor design and other ground level installations.
On D.C. Electrified lines Substations of outdoor raft and indoor design, switching stations, track paralleling huts and other ground level installations.
The fencing is intended to provide protection from vandalism and to prevent access to the electrical installation by intruders
