PURPOSE.
This Instruction establishes policy, guidance, and responsibilities for the Coast Guard After Action Program (CGAAP) and Corrective Action Program (CAP) to document and act on lessons learned in exercises, planned real world events, and real world incidents. This Instruction establishes the requirement to utilize the Contingency Preparedness System (CPS) as the system of record for the CGAAP and CAP.
