This document applies to fleet wheelset maintenance and wheelset overhaul carried out by London Underground Limited.
Purpose
The purpose of this document is to help improve understanding and provide guidance on identification and appropriate actions when dealing with wheel defects on LUL rolling stock.
It is aimed to raise awareness in maintenance staff, wheel lathe operators and fleet engineers of the importance of wheelset condition. This will assist in optimising the life of wheelsets and minimising the associated costs.
