This standard specifies terms, definitions, and classification of medical electrical equipment/systems employing robotic technology (MEERT ).

Purpose

The purpose of this standard is to provide the industry a unified classification and definitions of MEERT that industry can leverage (also see Annex A). Harmonization of these classification and definitions for MEERT promotes a common framework for the industry in the rapid development and deployment of MEERT in the healthcare industry.
