Purpose:
In accordance with the authority in Title 10, United States Code (U.S.C.), this issuance:
• Designates the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (USD(A&S)) as the DoD official with the authority to establish policy, assign responsibilities, and provide procedures for DoD interactions with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other interagency partners with Federal aviation equities.
• Establishes the DoD Policy Board on Federal Aviation (PBFA) and assigns responsibilities to the DoD PBFA in accordance with DoD Instruction 5105.18.
