Purpose
The intent of this document, IEEE Std 716-1982, IEEE Standard Common ATLAS (C/ATLAS), is to define a high order language which is a subset of Level 18 of IEEE Std 416, Abbreviated Test Language for All Systems (ATLAS). The language described in this document is to be used for the writing of test programs for Units Under Test (UUTs), so that these programs can operate on various makes and models of Automatic Test Equipments (ATE). The subset is defined in terms of two sections. Section A consists of essential verbs and syntax structures; Section B consists of nouns, noun modifiers and units that are selectable, depending upon the application.
Language Processors. Language processors conforming to this standard shall support all the capabilities of Section A. In addition, this support shall include all nouns, noun modifiers and units from Section B that are necessary to support the target ATE.
Document Control All aspects of definition, creation, management, maintenance, quality assurance, and proposal handling shall be the responsibility of the Users' Subcommittee of the IEEE ATLAS Committee. It is intended that the frequency of review and possible revision will be on a two-year cycle, and such revisions shall conform to the latest approved version of IEEE Std 416.
