Apart from the exceptions listed below, these instructions apply to work on high voltage equipment in switching stations and substations, and on high voltage equipment forming part of Railtrack controlled infrastructure including electric traction systems.
Purpose
This Specification gives instructions for the making out, issuing and cancelling of Permits-to-Work, Sanctions-for-Test and Circuit State Certificates for work on high voltage equipment detailed in 1.2 and 1.3 below. It forms part of a set of Railtrack Standards which govern safe working on or near all its electrical equipment, distribution systems and traction supply systems.
