This method is intended for the testing of oil-borne copper naphthenate concentrates (6 and 8% copper) used in the preparation of wood preserving solutions. Copper Naphthenate is practically insoluble in water but some non-naphthenic adulterants not conforming to Standard P36 such as copper acetate and copper propionate have substantial water solubility.
