This standard applies to all lifting operations using :

• On-Track Plant (OTP)

• On-track Machines (OTMs)

• Road mobile cranes

• Lorry mounted knuckle boom cranes

• Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs)

• Manually powered lifting equipment

The requirements of this standard do not apply to rail mounted recovery cranes.

This specification supports The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) and Rail Industry Standards.

Purpose

This standard details the requirements for planning all lifting operations, including tandem lifting, undertaken on Network Rail managed infrastructure.
