This guidance note applies to Network Rail and its contractors who are engaged in faulting, maintenance, installation and upgrade of Network Rail's telecoms infrastructure.

The guidance note gives examples and circumstance to assist the telecoms Steward (stage 1 review) with the processing of SINCS records as detailed in section 6.1 of RT/E/S/30047 It gives assistance with the use of the Hazard Index System as detailed in section 10 and appendix A of RT/E/S/30047

Purpose

The purpose of this guidance note is to provide information, help and worked examples to Network Rail and its contractors to ensure compliance with Network Rail specification RT/E/S/30047.
