This QPL has been prepared for use by or for the Government in the acquisition of products covered by the subject non-Government standard and inclusion of a product is not intended to and does not connote endorsement of the product by the Department of Defense. All products included herein have been qualified under the requirements for the products as specified in the latest effective issue of the applicable non-Government standard. This QPL is updated as necessary and is subject to change without notice. Inclusion of a product does not release or otherwise affect the obligation of the manufacturer to comply with the non-Government standard requirements.THE ACTIVITY RESPONSIBLE FOR QUALIFICATION APPROVAL IS THE NAVAL AIR SYSTEMS COMMAND, (CODE 4.3.5.3), 48110 SHAW ROAD, BLDG. 2187, PATUXENT RIVER, MD 20670-1908.
THE ACTIVITY RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS QUALIFIED PRODUCTS LIST IS THE NAVAL AIR SYSTEMS COMMAND (ATTENTION: COMMANDER, NAVAL AIR WARFARE CENTER AIRCRAFT DIVISION, CODE 412000B120-3, HIGHWAY 547, JOINT BASE MDL, NJ 08733-5100).
Provisions for Government Procurement. Procurement of these bearings shall be in accordance with FAR 52.225-3 (Buy American Act) and DFAR 52.225-7012 (Preference for Domestic Specialty Metals). The contractor should include these provisions in every subcontract and purchase order.
NOTE:
1. Each bearing manufacturer listed in this QPL is approved to supply its approved unplated bearings (listed herein) with the outside diameter zinc-nickel plated according to SAE-AMS 2417, Type 2 or cadmium plated according to QQ-P-416, Type II, Class 2 when plating is specified by the purchaser. The designation for plated parts is characterized by addition of the letter P to the Non-Government Standards Body (NGSB) designation for the unplated parts. For existing inventories, cadmium plated parts are acceptable.
2. Each bearing manufacturer listed in this QPL is approved to supply its approved bearings (listed herein) with oversize outside diameters when an oversize bearing is specified by the purchaser. There are two permissible oversize diameter increments (0.010 and 0.020 inch oversize). The designation for an oversize part is characterized by the addition of the letters T or U to the NGSB designation (T for 0.010 inch oversize, and U for 0.020-inch oversize).
The addition of the letters PT to the NGSB designation indicates plated oversize bearings.
3. Each bearing manufacturer listed in this QPL is approved to supply its approved bearings (listed herein) in all length codes established in Table 2 of the SAE-AS91934/1 and SAE-AS81934/2 specification sheets.
4. "Type A" parts are a suitable replacement for "non-Type A". The inverse is not true. "Type A" indicates qualification to 100,000 cycles vs. 25,000 cycles for "non-Type A". "Type A" is indicated by an "A" code following the MS specification number (ex. MS14101A-8 is a suitable replacement for MS14101-8 however MS14101-8 is not a suitable replacement for MS14101A-8).
