METHODOLOGY FOR THE DEMONSTRATION OF COMPATIBILITY WITH LINESIDE EQUIPMENT

inactive
Organization: NR
Publication Date: 1 February 2003
Status: inactive
Page Count: 45
scope:

This report is concerned with interference to fixed systems only (i.e. not trainborne) and concentrates on those that are safety critical or safety related; though systems of commercial significance are also considered. The items are arranged into broad groups according to the functions performed by them although this grouping is not precise as there are many areas of overlap.

Purpose

The purpose of this document is to provide a methodology to demonstrate compatibility with lineside equipment installed on the a.c. and d.c. electrified railway on Railtrack controlled infrastructure. This is achieved by specifying criteria/standards against which theoretical calculations or test results for new rolling stock should be compared to enable a safety case to be made.
