This document provides requirements for design, manufacturing, certification, installation and testing of steering gears for rudder based steering.

Requirements to steering of podded and geared thrusters are given in Ch.5 Sec.3. Requirements to steering of water jets are given in Ch.5 Sec.2.

Requirements for rudders are given in Pt.3 Ch.14 and in DNV-RU-HSLC Pt.3 Ch.5.
