This technical specification applies to cast-in baseplates of the following types

a) Plain line.

b) Stiffness transitions.

c) Tight radius curves where check rails are required.

d) Points & Crossings (P&C).

e) Noise and Vibration (N&V).

This technical specification applies to LU staff, Transport for London (TfL) engineering staff and all suppliers involved in the design, manufacture or supply of baseplate systems.

Note: The LU deep tube environment offers enormous constraints and challenges which are unique in world metro systems and a range of solutions may be required to meet this specification.

Purpose

This technical specification provides requirements for cast in baseplates that are to be used for deep tube renewals (DTR) on the London Underground (LU) network.
