This part of ISO 6398 is applicable to those components meeting the definition of submersible linear motors including stators, movers,motor lead extension cable, as defined herein.

This part of ISO 6398 includes normative annexes addressing design validation performance rating requirements and functional Evaluation for SLM. Additional, this part of ISO 6398 includes informative annexes addressing the test device and components of SLM.

Equipment not covered by this part of ISO 6398 includes pumps and other fittings, power cables and drive systems. These items might or might not be covered by other international standards.
