All staff potentially at risk shall familiarise with this guidance and carry out safe working practices during the course of their duty, so to protect the health of one self and others, as well as meeting the obligations placed on the organisation by legislation.

Purpose

This guidance document deals with the identification and assessment of potential risk of infection at work when carrying out ones duties. In order to substantially reduce the risk of contracting infections and comply with health and safety legislation, straight forward principles should be followed.
