Scope and Applicability.
This instruction and reference (a) are applicable to all Navy and Marine Corps activities (with the exception of U.S. Marine Corps activities responsible for Marine Corps ground ammunition (cognizant code 0T)) concerned with the acquisition and life-cycle management of Department of Defense (DoD) Class V ammunition and associated equipment.
Purpose.
To issue naval ordnance management policies, assign responsibilities and provide guidance for the proper execution of the Naval Ordnance Management Policy (NOMP) at all levels of naval ordnance management. This instruction is a complete revision and should be reviewed in its entirety.
