This method provides for the laboratory determination of the leachability of wood preservatives expressed as a percentage of the original preservative retention. Data derived using this method are useful for estimating the long-term efficacy of preservative systems. This data is not intended to, nor shall it be used to predict potential environmental impacts of treated wood in service. This method is designed with waterborne preservatives in mind and may not be applicable to other types of preservatives.
