To provide a list of possible two-dimensional (2D) intraoral and extraoral visible light image (photographic) views as used by orthodontic/craniofacial/forensic providers.

To provide explanation and specific attributes of each view, making use of text and line art drawings where necessary.

To help clinicians understand how specifications such as SNOMED CT and DICOM are used.

To call attention to other types of photographic image files used in orthodontics, craniofacial interventions, and forensic activities, namely videos, 3D photographic images, and 3D images acquired by scanning devices.
