The 200 series of design manuals covers station environments and other public areas associated with the transit of passengers. The documents are aimed at sponsors, public authorities, third party developers, designers, engineers, project managers, and anyone involved in the design and delivery of stations.
This standard and the associated modules should be applied to all UK Managed Stations and Non-Managed UK categories of stations and related buildings.
Purpose
This manual provides advisory guidance which supports Network Rail's broad objectives, goals, strategies and policy requirements for station design and planning. It references UK legislation and British Standards, and provides a framework for design processes, assurance systems and specified controls that will encourage good design, legal assurance and control at all levels of station and infrastructure development.
