Purpose

The purpose of the Contract Requirements - Environment is to provide a controlled source of mandatory environment clauses that set out the minimum requirements for each and every contract and the particular requirements for specific contracts. It also provides the framework for satisfying Railtrack that the Contractor is fully aware of the environmental issues that could affect the Contract.

The Environmental Management Plan (EMP) required by the Contract shall set out how the Contractor will deliver all the environmental requirements, both generic and specific, and how environmental issues that arise are handled in the correct manner in accordance with relevant legislation and regulations and with Railtrack's environmental policies.
