scope:
This module outlines the technical requirements for utilising the EULYNX MDM Subsystem in the GB application, including its interfaces with other EULYNX subsystems.
To fully understand these requirements, reading this module alongside NR/L2/SIG/19820/L01 and any relevant documentation published by the EULYNX Consortium is recommended.
This module applies to individuals and deployment projects introducing EULYNX MDM subsystems for Network Rail managed infrastructure, where EULYNX interfaces are required.
It contains the Network Rail application requirements for the following EULYNX subsystems and interfaces:
a) MDM Subsystem to Points Subsystem Standard Maintenance Interface (SMIP)
b) MDM Subsystem to Points Subsystem Standard Diagnostic Interface (SDI-P)
c) MDM Subsystem to Train Detection Subsystem Standard Maintenance Interface (SMI-TDS)
d) MDM Subsystem to Train Detection Subsystem Standard Diagnostic Interface (SDI-TDS)
e) MDM Subsystem to Adjacent Interlocking Subsystem Standard Maintenance Interface (SMI-ILS)
f) MDM Subsystem to Adjacent Interlocking Subsystem Standard Diagnostic Interface (SDI-ILS)
g) MDM Subsystem to Level Crossings Subsystem Standard Maintenance Interface (SMI-LC)
h) MDM Subsystem to Level Crossings Subsystem Standard Diagnostic Interface (SDI-LC)
i) MDM Subsystem to Electronic Interlocking Subsystem Standard Maintenance Interface (SMI-EIL)
j) MDM Subsystem to Electronic Interlocking Subsystem Standard Diagnostic Interface (SDI-EIL)
k) SSP Subsystem to MDM Subsystem (SSI-MDM)
In addition to the above EULYNX subsystems, the MDM subsystem will have the interface to the following.
a) Maintainer (for the access, diagnostics, configuration data and maintenance of the connected EULYNX subsystems)
b) External Diagnostic systems (Network Rails diagnostic, analytical systems under Intelligent Infrastructure.)
Requirements in NR/L2/SIG/19820/L01 apply in addition to the above.
Figure 1 shows an overview of the EULYNX system and its associated subsystems and standard interfaces. The red box in Figure 1 highlights the SDI and SMI interfaces and their intended use for MDM.
Purpose
This module details the EULYNX Maintenance and Data Management (MDM) Subsystem. With the implementation of the MDM and digital interfaces to Network Rail's infrastructure, diagnostic data can now be collected and analysed. This will lead to a significantly improved maintenance routine that can be carried out remotely.
