Purpose of This Notice. This notice advises all principal inspectors (PI) and other assigned aviation safety inspectors (ASI) of updated guidance in Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Order 8900.1, Flight Standards Information Management System (FSIMS), operations specification (OpSpec)/management specification (MSpec)/letter of authorization (LOA) C063/MC063, Area Navigation (RNAV) and Required Navigation Performance (RNP) Terminal Operations. It provides guidance to authorize Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) parts 91, 91 subpart K (part 91K), 121, 125 (including the 125 Letter of Deviation Authority (LODA) A125 holders (125M)), and 135 operators to conduct operations using 14 CFR part 97 U.S. instrument flight rules (IFR) terminal Area Navigation 1 (RNAV 1) and/or Required Navigation Performance 1 (RNP 1) departure procedures (DP), RNAV 1 and/or RNP 1 routes, RNAV 1 and/or RNP 1 Standard Terminal Arrival Routes (STAR) in the National Airspace System (NAS), and/or tailored arrivals (TA). (For 14 CFR part 129, see Order 8900.1, Volume 12, Chapter 2, Section 5.) This notice also announces a revision to all C063 templates. This is a nonmandatory revision. The current template will remain valid and will only need to be updated when one of the following occurs:

• The certificate holder/operator/program manager needs to make a change to the aircraft or systems on the template, or

• The certificate holder/operator/program manager applies for RNP 1 or TA authorization.
