scope:

This Notice Board applies to IMC040 boards covered by any of the following situations:

1. Installed in a Vamos crossing system which has been constructed on-site but not yet been commissioned,

2. Installed in a Vamos crossing system within a Network Rail training school,

3. Part of the Vamos crossing system 'kit' held in stock intended for use at a new site,

4. Spare parts holdings managed by Route Services.

Note 1: The arrangements for IMC040 boards installed within commissioned Vamos crossing systems on operational infrastructure, or spares held locally by Delivery Units, are covered by NR/SIN/216.

Note 2: IMC040 boards used in other systems / applications, e.g. Flex crossing systems, are not affected by this Notice Board. A suitable float of spare IMC040 boards should be retained for use in these other systems. Currently the population of Vamos crossing systems on NR infrastructure is about 50 times greater than the population of Flex crossing systems.

Purpose 

This Notice Board (NB) describes the process for arranging for Frauscher to convert IMC040 boards into IMC040A boards for use with Vamos overlay miniature stop light (OMSL) crossing systems which have not yet been commissioned, including: 

• How to return IMC040 boards to Frauscher for conversion into IMC040A boards, 

• The actions to take once IMC040A boards are returned by Frauscher.
